Reports indicate that the following was taped Tuesday night for the episode of WWE SmackDown that's set to air this Friday, April 18 from Nashville, Tenn. as the WWE builds towards the Extreme Rules event on May 4 live from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

In the main event, Batista defeated Sheamus in what was described as a physical match after nailing a Batista Bomb. He stood tall to end the show.

Triple H kicked off SmackDown by proclaiming Evolution to be the dominant faction in the WWE and not The Shield while he also discussed them reuniting on Monday Night RAW. Triple H then made a match pitting Evolution against The Shield for Extreme Rules.

Paul Heyman was in attendance and cut a promo about Brock Lesnar ending The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak to generate heat from the crowd.

In other action, Big E defeated Alberto Del Rio by disqualification while El Torito defeated Hornswoggle by pinfall.

Elsewhere on the program, Alexander Rusev defeated R-Truth by submission with Xavier Woods and Lana at ringside. Woods attacked Rusev after the match, but got squashed. Also on the show, Santino Marella defeated Fandango with a roll-up as Emma and Layla were at ringside.

In Divas action, Paige defeated Aksana with the Scorpion Cross Lock.

This episode of SmackDown airs just over two weeks from Extreme Rules, and as the WWE continues to build towards that event, a new match was made featuring Evolution vs. The Shield.
