Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Anaheim Ducks (36-9-5, 77 points) and Chicago Blackhawks (30-8-11, 71 points) hit the ice at the United Center in Chicago for the second of three meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Anaheim fans can hear all of the action on KLAA 830 while Chicago fans can do the same on 720 WGN.
Anaheim enters play on the heels of winning eight games in a row and will search for their ninth straight while Chicago has lost in regulation just once in seven games so far in 2014, but has suffered through overtime and shootout losses. The first time these two teams met, the Ducks topped the Blackhawks 3-2 in a shootout on Dec. 6.
The Ducks are coming off of a dominant performance where they decimated the Vancouver Canucks 9-1 at home.
"We have a lot of depth guys, and guys who come in the lineup," said center Andrew Cogliano, according to NHL.com. "It seems like we have 14 guys who switch every night who can provide offense. It's pretty impressive we're getting a lot of depth scoring.
The Blackhawks have fallen to six points behind the Ducks in the race for the President's Trophy, and the team knows how important this game is.
"It's a great test for us, a good measuring stick," coach Joel Quenneville said per NHL.com. "They're on a great run here. Commend them on how they're playing. But game in, game out, they're a hard team to play against. They got a lot of guys contributing, and everyone is a part of it."
The Blackhawks have been led by Patrick Kane, who has 56 points off of 22 goals and 33 assists while Patrick Sharp has found the twine 25 times and added 24 assists for 49 points and Jonathan Toews has 17 tallies and 30 helpers for 47 points for the defending Stanley Cup champions.
Ryan Getzlaf has paced the Ducks with 55 points off of 23 markers and 32 assists while Corey Perry has nine points in his last five games and has lit the lamp 27 times and added 26 helpers for 53 points and Nick Bonino has found the back of the net 15 times and added 20 assists for 35 points.
Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller, who has won his last 14 decisions and is 23-4-4 with a 2.34 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage, is questionable for this game due to an illness while Corey Crawford will likely start for Chicago and is 17-7-7 with a 2.48 GAA and a .911 save percentage this season.
The Ducks look for their ninth straight win while the Blackhawks hope to put away a team they have struggled against when the lights come up tonight at the United Center in Chicago.
