Free-agent-to-be Carmelo Anthony expects the New York Knicks to consult with him prior to making any deals that might impact the team's long-time future, according to the New York Post.

The Knicks are rumored to be feverishly chasing Boston guard Rajon Rondo, who once played with Anthony in high school. Though the Knicks roster does not have many players the Celtics deem suitable for dealing Rondo, The Post reports the team has intensified its chase of the all-star point guard over the last two weeks.

Celtics GM Danny Ainge has strongly hinted he wants a package of multiple first-round picks for Rondo, and the Knicks don't own a first-rounder until the 2018 season, making the prospect of landing their primary target all the more challenging.

"I'm pretty sure they would bring it to me,'' Anthony told The Post of the rumored deal. "They would keep me up to date on what's going on. As far as making decisions, that's their job. I'm pretty sure they will keep me informed - about what's about to happen and what's going to happen."

The Knicks are also rumored to have shown an interest in Atlanta point guard Jeff Teague. The Post adds the team;s long-term plan centers around selling Anthony on a plan where the team will look to add All-Star forward Kevin Love when he becomes a free agent in Minnesota after the 2015 season.
