LeBron James is among a growing group of NBA players that is hoping the league will incorporate a longer NBA All-Star break.

New league commissioner Adam Silver recently told ESPN he briefly met with several players during All-Star Weekend in New Orleans and James was at the forefront of the contingent lobbying for the extended break.

"LeBron and I have had a relationship for a long time," Silver told ESPN. "We're so far in season that the relationship has mainly been one of texting and emailing. I spoke to him for a little bit Sunday, and he had a few things to say in the locker room when I was in talking to the players."

Silver added that a schedule change of the magnitude will have to be negotiated with the players' association. He added he expects the issue to be among the most heated topics discussed once the player's union elects a full-time replacement for ousted executive director Billy Hunter.

Even with his Miami Heat seeking to become the first NBA team to earn a three-peat in nearly decades, James has hinted he plans to continue monitoring the situation and is hoping it will come to be over the course of his Hall of Fame bound career.
