Rajon Rondo trade rumors: Boston Celtics seeking two, unprotected first-round picks for All-Star guard? [VIDEO]

The Boston Celtics are seeking two unprotected first-round draft picks in any proposed deal for All-Star guard Rajon Rondo.

According to Fansided.com, the Celtics are now more open to dealing Rondo than ever before, it's just that their asking price has drastically increased. The website adds the New York Knicks, the team that to date has showed the most interest in the 27-year-old point guard, don't have another first-round pick until the 2018 season.

No matter what team ultimately elects to get involved in the Rondo sweepstakes, the Celtics' asking price is a hefty one for a veteran player coming off major knee surgery. A four-time All-Star, Rondo has played in just 10 games recovering from a torn ACL.

In seven full NBA seasons, Rondo has averaged 11 points, eight assists and five rebounds. His best full season came in 2009-10, when he averaged 14 points, 10 assists and four rebounds in 81 games.

Rondo has also averaged double digit assists over each of the last three seasons and remains regarded as one of the league's best defenders at his position, having led the league in steals three times.

Playing with the Big 3 of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, Rondo guided the Celts to a NBA title in 2008.
