Dwyane Wade may sit out this weekend's NBA All-Star game with what team officials describe as a "bizarre" foot injury.
According to the Sportingnews.com, Wade is suffering from nerve irritation in his left foot. Wade has sat out the Miami Heat's last two games and is also reportedly suffering from migraine headaches.
A 10-time All-Star, Sportingnews.com reports Wade experienced numbness in his foot during recent pre-game warm-ups. "I started feeling a little something in my foot, getting a little numbness," he told the website. "But you don't think nothing of it. As time went on it started going up my leg a little bit, so the nerve going up my leg kind of shut down. Weirdest thing I've ever felt. When I was out there and moved around and warmed up, I felt I couldn't feel my foot. So I didn't want to do anything.
As for taking the court during Sunday's All-Star Game, Wade explained "first I want this to calm down a little bit and get back to feeling regular and I will go from there. We will see. I'm not optimistic. I'm not pessimistic. I just want to get better."
Wade has missed 13 games for the Heat this season with numerous injuries. If he decides to sit on Sunday, Indiana's Lance Stephenson, Toronto Kyle Lowry, Orlando's Arron Afflalo and Charlotte's Al Jefferson are all considered to be leading candidates to replace him.
