After a grueling and exhaustive search, Dwight Howard has finally unloaded his Orlando mega-mansion at a stunning loss of nearly $3 million, according to TMZ.com
The website reports Howard hasn't lived on the property for over two years, right about the time he left the Orlando Magic for Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. Howard, who was drafted right out of high school by the Magic in 2004 and in now a member of the Houston Rockets, originally paid $7.8 million for the estate, which reportedly sold for just $4.9 million.
TMZ reports the home is built in Gothic style detail and nicknamed the "Chateau D'Usse," after a famous French castle. The website adds it has five bedrooms, vaulted ceilings and fancy designer furniture. The property reportedly also includes a massive kitchen with a separate food prep area, a large family room with two-side fireplace leading to a man cave, which is highligted by a full-sized pool table and wet bar, a temperature controlled wine cellar and a tiered movie theater. Outside and around the property is a covered patio with fireplace, full-sized pool with water-falls and water slides and an entertainment center.
After a trying season in L.A., Howard and the Rockets are currently on a roll, having won eight of 10 games and five in a row. During the winning streak, Howard has averaged 26 points and 11 rebounds.
