Lamar Odom's dreams of an NBA return this season are fading fast, according to HollywoodLife.com, which reports league GMs are still hesitant to sign the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner based on his rocky history.
According to HollywoodLife, Khloe Kardashian's soon-to-be ex-husband had hoped his recent run of sobriety would embolden teams to consider giving him another chance to resurrect his veteran career. Odom recently met with L.A. Clipper about rejoining the team and the Lakers also once hinted they might be interested in bringing him back into the fold.
But with the Clippers having recently signed veteran forward Hedo Turkoglou and the Lakers intent on saving as much money as they can for next season, both teams have now clearly decided to go in other directions. The website adds most other NBA teams still seem to be taking a wait-and-see approach with Odom and may be more open to bringing him into training camp next season with a clean slate.
After four years of marriage, Odom and Kardashian recently announced they were splitting, with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality TV star formally filing for divorce on Dec. 13. The couple also recently sold the California mansion they once shared and rumors abound Kardashian is now looking for property closer to where momager Kris Jenner still resides.
