The ongoing Warren Sapp, Michael Strahan feud has escalated to the point Sapp is now challenging Strahan to a fistfight, according to sports personality Jim Rome.
"Warren Sapp told me his reaction to Strahan calling him a coward 'pick the spot, and I'll come see you and you can have a dose of it,' Rome tweeted Wednesday.
The public beef between the two retired NFL veterans erupted this week when Hall of famer Sapp let it be known he doesn't think Strahan is worthy for such distinction.
The New York Daily reports Strahan, who will learn this weekend if he made the cut of the latest players to elected to The Hall, by calling Sapp a "jackass" and later a "sheep and Coward."
On Wednesday, The News reported Strahan added "I don't understand what the problem is to be honest with you. If you have a problem with me, I'm the type of guy you come and talk to me. I'm not a coward to talk to somebody else when I have somebody's number. I'm going to come to you and tell you if I have a problem. So I don't understand what this whole thing is about."
According to The News, the feud actually dates back to 2002 when Strahan set the NFL record for most sacks in a single-season of 22.5 on a controversial slide play involving then-Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre. Sapp instantly labeled the whole episode a "travesty."
"When you really measure him, he comes up short," Sapp told The News. "I don't think his resume stacks up when you put Tony Dungy, Walter Jones, Marvin Harrison and Derrick Brooks up. Those are four first-ballot Hall of Famers."
Strahan responded by telling The News "the tiger does not pay attention to the opinion of a sheep."
