Lindsey Vonn is quickly realizing her new job is every bit as difficult as her old was.

The defending Olympic skiing gold medalist recently announced she would not be able to compete at the upcoming Sochi Games because of a knee injury and instead will be working as part of the TODAY and NBC coverage teams.

"It's going to be so hard," Vonn now tells NBC of a job the network is describing will entail her "sharing her unique perspective on the events and the competition from an Olympian's point of view."

Tiger's Wood girlfriend later told Matt Lauer "it's already hard enough. You guys run commercials about Sochi about every two minutes, and it's killing me. I'm trying not to watch as much as I can. It's going to be really, really hard to watch the Alpine events."

Vonn also told Lauer she already has her eyes on the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. "I'm very motivated," she said. "I have a lot that I have to accomplish still. I'm going to take my time. I felt a little bit rushed last time with trying to be back and ready for Sochi. I'm going to be racing next year, and the year after that, and the year after that."
