Darren Sharper, former NFL safety, claims he only knows the identity of one of two women now accusing him of rape, and that his actions with her were consensual.

According to TMZ, the former New Orleans Saints veteran is adamant in asserting he will be completely vindicated, including in the case of most recent alleged victim who maintains she was assaulted just this month.

L.A. police took the 38-year-old Sharper into custody last week, confirming that the second alleged attack took place sometime last October. Some media outlets have also reported a third woman from Louisiana has now emerged and claims she too was assaulted.

As for the woman he admits to knowing, TMZ reports Sharper has told police he met the woman at a L.A. nightclub and they went back to his hotel room to "hook up." Sharper is now free on $200,000 bail.

Sharper, who now works as a NFL Network analyst, has since been suspended from his job without pay. A five-time Pro Bowler, Sharper played 14 NFL seasons and was named to the NFL All-Decade Team for the 2000s. He led the Saints to a Super Bowl in 2009, when he collected a league-leading nine interceptions.
