Patrick Beverley is expected to return to the Houston Rockets lineup on Monday, presumably sending guard Jeremy Lin back to the bench and his role as a reserve for the up-and-down Rockets, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Just how long Lin even stays in Houston seems a matter of opinion. Several media outlets are reporting the Rockets are now in talks with the Boston Celtics about sending Lin, disgruntled center Omer Asik and the team's first round draft pick to Boston in exchange for All-Star guard Rajon Rondo.

In the meantime, Lin figures to go back to his role serving as Beverley's back up. Beverley broke his right hand on Dec. 23 and has been sidelined every since. He resumed practicing with the team earlier this week.

In 25 games this season, Beverley, who has a reputation for being a tough and physical competitor, has averaged 9.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists.

Lin, who signed with the Rockets as a free agent two summers ago on the strength of his "Linsanity" run in New York, is averaging 13.9 points, 4.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds for the Western Conference's No. 5 seed.
