The Los Angeles Lakers (14-21) are in Houston tonight to take on Dwight Howard and the Rockets (22-13) in their second meeting this season, and the second one in H-Town. The game tips off at 8:00 p.m. ET and can be live streamed here. Lakers fans can listen to the game on 710 ESPN, while Rockets fans can do the same on KBME Sports Talk 790.
The Dwight Howard hate seems to have faded in the background leading into the second matchup between these two teams, and the focus now is on Houston's leading scorer James Harden.
Harden has begun to reach the free throw line with more frequency, and he's apparently gotten past some injury issues that plagued him earlier this year. That should be helped by their stretch of inactivity; the Rockets haven't played since January 3rd.
"Hopefully this rest can help get guys back, help us get our legs, and all the guys get our focus on what each and every guy needs to do from here on out for this team to be successful," Harden said. "For me, being healthy, just staying in the gym, I'm kind of getting my shot back. These last couple games have been pretty good for me, just have to be consistent."
The Lakers, without Howard, Kobe Bryant or Steve Nash have begun to sink after a surprisingly competitive start to the year. "We've got some guys who are struggling right now, and some guys playing well," coach Mike D'Antoni said. "Then in the next game, the guys who were struggling play well and the others start struggling."
Rockets coach Kevin McHale isn't taking the struggling Lakers for granted though, after losing to them the first time. "We made some mistakes, and they made some tough 3s," Rockets coach Kevin McHale said of that game. "They're going to shoot a lot of 3s, and you can't stop a team from shooting 3s. But you can contest and try to get a hand up.
"We just have to contest, get the ball and run ourselves."
