Aaron Hernandez's fiancee is seeking to have the perjury charges against her stemming from the murder case he faces dismissed, according to the Boston Globe.

The newspaper reports Shayanna Jenkins, 24, plans to seek a dismissal of all the charges after her attorneys thoroughly complete all the evidence recently submitted to them by authorities. Prosecutors have alleged the mother of the former New England Patriots tight end lied to a grand jury last summer as many as 29 times in an effort to protect him.

At a recent hearing not attended by Jenkins, defense attorney Janice Bassil described the evidence the prosecution plans to use against her client as "fairly sprawling."She later added Jenkins, who remains free on personal recognizance, is holding up well.

Lead prosecutor William McCauley later told Bristol Superior Court Judge E. Susan Garsh his office has already turned over most of the government's evidence against Jenkins, with the possible exception of some video surveillance that is still be copied.

Hernandez, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the late June killing of 27-year-old, one-time associate Odin Lloyd, whose bullet-riddled body was found less than a mile from his North Attleborough mansion.

Among Jenkins' alleged transgressions are charges she lied about conversations she had with Hernandez when he called her June 18th from his attorney's office and instructed her to remove items from the home they shared together. Authorities also maintain she was less than forthcoming about why she removed the items, her lack of knowledge of those objects, and how she got rid of them.

Bassil, meanwhile, has described the case against her client as a classic example of abuse of prosecutorial power and told The Globe in December, "perhaps they feel if they throw enough mud against the wall, something will stick."

Hernandez, who remains jailed without bail, has pleaded not guilty and his lawyers insist they expect him to be exonerated.

Garsh set a phone conference date for Feb. 27 in the Jenkins case, at which time Bassil and prosecutors will discuss the status of the matter and the filing of motions.
