LA Clippers All-Star point guard Chris Paul will miss three to five weeks with a separated right shoulder injury he sustained during the third quarter of the team's 119-112 victory in Dallas on Friday.

As per SI.com, Clippers coach Doc Rivers told reporters that his star guard will miss three to five weeks with the injury, meaning he could miss at least 10 games and up to 18 matches for the Pacific Division-leading team.

The six-time All-Star suffered the injury with 6:43 remaining in the third quarter and the Clippers leading 77-75. He turned the corner at the top of the key to attach the basket off the dribble when he was fouled by Mavericks guard Monta Ellis. Paul tumbled hard to the court, holding the top of his right shoulder in pain. He left the court with 19 points on 5 for 8 shooting with six assists and three rebounds. He had also tied his career high with five three point field goals made.

Despite the absence of their star, the Clippers turned back the Mavericks to improve their record to 23-12.

Paul is on track to start for the 2014 Western Conference All Star set on February 16 in New Orleans. He is averaging 19.6 points, a league-leading 11.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds this season. In his absence, Rivers will have to give the point guard duties to reserve guard Darren Collison who scored a season high 22 points against the Mavs in lieu of Paul and even sixth man extraordinaire Jamal Crawford.
