With the WWE having just unified the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after Randy Orton defeated John Cena at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs, WWE.com caught up with Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston and United States Champion Dean Ambrose about the possibility of unifying both of their title belts.

When asked about unifying the titles, Langston said he was open to anything that would legitimize the belts.

"I'd be open to it. If it strengthens the legitimacy of both titles, then I'm all for it," Langston told WWE.com.

Ambrose told the site he'd be up to them unifying the belts.

"It'd be a good thing as long as they made one good looking championship for me to haul around, because I'd definitely be the one holding it." he told the site.

While Langston wasn't sure whether or not there would be a downside to unifying the title belts, Ambrose, who mostly remained in kayfabe, said he could see some potential problems with it.

"On the one hand, you'd have fewer titles for people to go for. On the other, it would be a prize that people would definitely want to come after," Ambrose said via WWE.com.

He added: "Nobody wants to come after my United States Title, because everyone has fallen so short and felt the hammer come down from The Shield afterward. It's a very dangerous proposition to come after my title, so maybe having the championships unified would offer a little more prize money for people to want to go after."

Added Langston: "I can't remark on how people would feel positively or negatively, but it would definitely bring more attention to the titles."

Langston said he would "welcome the challenge" if the WWE decided to unify both of the midcard belts while Ambrose said he would love to wrestle to ensure the honor and legitimacy of the United States Championship.

"I feel that what I've given and sacrificed for the U.S. Title, I'd be willing to put that on the line as a pride thing." Ambrose told WWE.com. "It's just as good as the Intercontinental Title. That's something I'd be willing to prove."

It remains to be seen if the WWE decides to unify the belts as Langston and Ambrose are both into it, but after the WWE unified their two major titles at TLC, anything is possible.
