NFL superstar Travis Kelce is shutting down a viral false report that stated he donated $3 million to fight homelessness in Kansas City.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end spoke against the misinformation on his "New Heights" podcast, stating that, although he is enthusiastic about community service, the widely shared story was entirely false.
Fake News: $3 Million Donation Never Happened
The rumor started from a March article in the Daily Mail, where Kelce allegedly donated more than $3 million towards housing vulnerable youth. Social media quickly flooded the story, and it even came up on The Pat McAfee Show, as the media personality showered Kelce with praise over the supposed charity.
However, Kelce has not remained quiet. In an episode of his podcast, he said:
"Some false claims were thrown out there that I was doing something in the community that I was not. I'm not even going to talk about it specifically, I don't want to bring any more attention to that whole nonsense and article and all that stuff."

Shattering All Rumors About the Viral Donation Hoax
Rather than surfing the wave of viral adoration, Kelce opted to set the record straight and direct fans to the actual work he's doing via his charity, the 87 & Running Foundation.
The foundation is dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through education, mentorship, and community outreach—both in Kansas City and his hometown of Cleveland.
He emphasized that while he's committed to making an impact, he wants people to recognize the authentic efforts his foundation is making, not fabricated claims spread online.
How the Rumor Got Out of Hand
According to TMZ Sports' findings, the bogus claim was allegedly fueled by a tweet by an organization stating that Kelce had given away a multi-million-dollar house. The tweet, which has since been widely quoted and shared, stated:
"To see @Killatrav use his platform to make a real difference for vulnerable youth," the org allegedly wrote.
"Travis is offering housing, mentorship, and educational resources, giving these youth the tools they need to move toward independence and break the cycle of homelessness," the org added.
Even though it was written in a positive light, the news was completely untrue, according to Kelce.
Kelce Thanks Supporters but Urges Skepticism
As much as closing down the rumor, Travis Kelce also paused to thank Pat McAfee and others who encourage athletes to make a difference.
The 35-year-old football player is devoted to giving back—but his way, and with genuine action, not viral myth. If you need to know what he's really doing for communities, go to 87running.org.
Circulating headlines may get clicks, but Kelce wants the attention put on actual work, not false news.
