The 2025 NFL Draft is slowly approaching, and fans wonder who will be the top prospects for the Pro Day season. While some quarterbacks showcased their skills after skipping the NFL Scouting Combine, a few top pass rushers opted out of their Pro Days, raising questions about their draft stock.
Penn State's Abdul Carter and Texas A&M's Shemar Stewart, two of the class's premier defensive prospects, have chosen not to participate in workouts, leaving scouts eager for more information.
Abdul Carter Skips Pro Day Due to Shoulder Rehab
Abdul Carter, one of the top pass rushers in this year's draft, has opted out of his Pro Day due to ongoing rehab from a shoulder injury sustained during the College Football Playoff against Boise State.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Carter's agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed that while Carter won't work out, he will still be measured- a critical step since he missed official measurements at the combine due to early departure for medicals.

Rosenhaus hinted that Carter might still participate in private team workouts scheduled for mid-April, giving teams one last opportunity to assess his physical condition before draft day.

Shemar Stewart Opts Out of Pro Day Workouts
Texas A&M's Shemar Stewart also decided not to participate in Pro Day workouts, according to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda. Stewart, a former five-star high school recruit, is known for his incredible physical tools but has struggled to translate that potential into production at the collegiate level. He recorded only 1.5 sacks in each of his three seasons with the Aggies, leaving scouts hungry for insights from his Pro Day.

Despite missing both the combine and Pro Day, Stewart is still projected as a first-round pick, primarily based on his elite traits rather than consistent on-field production.
Landon Jackson's Stock Rises After Impressive Workouts
Arkansas' Landon Jackson, another promising pass rusher, is pushing to secure a spot in the first round alongside Carter and Stewart. Jackson's remarkable combine performance, which included a 4.68-second 40-yard dash, a 40.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10-foot-9 broad jump, showcased his elite athleticism. He followed that up with an impressive three-cone drill time of under seven seconds.
Although Jackson surprisingly sat out defensive line drills during his Pro Day in Fayetteville, his combined results and raw potential have solidified his status as a likely top-42 pick, with many projecting him as a possible late Day 1 selection.
Mason Taylor Impresses Scouts at LSU Pro Day
LSU tight end Mason Taylor also turned heads at his Pro Day in Baton Rouge. Clocking a 40-yard dash time between 4.58-4.62 seconds and benching 28 reps, Taylor showcased his impressive speed and strength.
While both the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys put Taylor through blocking drills, the Los Angeles Chargers are the only team with an official top-30 visit scheduled, according to Pauline.
Taylor's Pro Day performance has undoubtedly boosted his draft stock and positioned him as a mid-round target with upside.
