Former NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss made a grand return to ESPN's "NFL Countdown" on Super Bowl Sunday, barely six months since he had unveiled his cancer fight. In December, Moss revealed that he was a cancer survivor.
He made a heartwarming comeback after a well-done tribute by the biggest football icons to celebrate his resilience on and off the football field.
Moss' ESPN colleagues surprised him with a special tribute featuring heartfelt messages from football icons, including his former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.
Moss Gets Emotional on Live TV
Moss couldn't hold back his tears as his co-commentators praised his will to live. TMZ Sports has learned that the former football star was emotional on his most recent ESPN comeback just in time before Super Bowl LIX kicked off.
"Hey Randy, wanted to let you know we're behind you as you continue your fight. Welcome back to TV and Countdown," Belichick said.
Tom Brady, one of Moss' most famous teammates, also shared his admiration, saying, "Welcome back, Randy. I'm sure all the guys on the set have missed you, but we've all missed you as well. You've been a fixture on that show for a long time and you were a fixture on the field."

Brady added, "For as great as you were on the field, showing everyone your strength and resilience throughout your Hall of Fame career, you've impressed and inspired us even more with what you've done off the field."
Other stars featured in the tribute included Kevin Garnett, Steve Smith Sr., Cam Heyward, and more.
The touching messages left Moss visibly moved, wiping away tears as the camera returned to him.
"You already know. You already know it's the big crybaby here," Moss said, his voice shaking with emotion. "Hey y'all, I couldn't do it alone. And I really thank y'all."
He added, "Hey guys, it's been hard, but I got a lot of love and a lot of people believing in me. I'm happy to be here."

Moss' Cancer Diagnosis and Recovery
Moss first talked about his medical condition in December. He noted that doctors saw a cancer mass between his pancreas and his liver after there were changes seen in his urine. Fortunately for him, surgeons could remove it, and so Moss has continued to fight it.
His return to the service in the NFL Countdown is more of a victory for his career and an inspiration that shows his strength and determination. Fans and fellow athletes are rallying behind him as he continues his journey toward recovery.
