Soccer great Cristiano Ronaldo has opened declared himself as "the most complete player to have existed."

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner made the declaration during an interview with Spanish television show "El Chiringuito."

"I'm talking about numbers," Ronaldo said during the interview, as quoted by ESPN. "I think I'm the most complete player to have existed. In my opinion, I think it's me."

"I do everything well in football: with my head, free kicks, left foot," he added. "I'm fast, I'm strong."

While the Al Nassr star said that he respects those who prefer Lionel Messi, Pelé, and Diego Maradona, he firmly believes that he is "the most complete."

"I haven't seen anybody better than me, and I say it from the heart," he said.

"I think that's the difference with others," Ronaldo added later in the interview. "Somebody else in my position would have left football 10 years ago. I'm different, full stop."

Soccer fans wasted no time in taking to social media to air their thoughts and opinions on Ronaldo's declaration. Many are not impressed with Ronaldo's self-assessment.

"Arguably the second best in the world ever, for some people the GOAT, but the dude is beyond cringe," one user on Reddit said. "Just like, enjoy your retirement man."

"People wonder why he got trolled a lot," a fellow user commented. "This is the reason."

"It honestly is insane to me. Ronaldo is so f***ing successful and yet he seems to [sic] insecure," another Reddit user said. "He constantly has to talk down other leagues and hype himself up. Messi and Argentina winning the World Cup hurt him so badly."
