Denzel Ward, the Cleveland Browns' star cornerback, is a die-hard Browns fan but believes there's one obvious issue holding them back—consistent quarterback play.

Speaking candidly in New York City, the 27-year-old said that securing steady performance at the QB position is crucial for the Browns to reclaim their playoff glory.

Browns' 2024 Struggles Highlight QB Instability

The Browns entered the 2024 season with high hopes behind quarterback Deshaun Watson. However, early struggles and injuries sidelined him, leaving Jameis Winston to step in. Despite moments of promise, Winston's performance faltered, leading to his eventual benching. According to TMZ Sports, with Watson expected to miss the entire 2025 season due to Achilles recovery and Winston likely heading to free agency, Cleveland faces uncertainty at its most critical position.

"We've got a good team for real, but we've got to solidify that quarterback position," Ward said in an interview with reporters.

Browns Options for 2025 Quarterback

The Browns face an important decision regarding their quarterback situation. The free-agent market is notably thin, with Sam Darnold emerging as one of the few viable options. However, the team holds the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft, which could allow them to secure a promising rookie talent.

The franchise's front office is under pressure to make a move that will bring stability Ward and his teammates so desperately want to see.

Ward's Off-Field Interests

While the Browns sort out their QB situation, Ward is looking forward to taking a short break from football to explore other opportunities. The two-time Pro Bowler revealed he's preparing for an off-field experience that's uniquely different from any other: he's going to walk the fashion runway.

Browns' Future Hinges on QB Stability

Cleveland should prepare thoroughly for the 2025 season if they want to increase their playoff chances.

Ward's call for consistency rings loud and clear. The Browns have a strong roster, but without reliable quarterback play, their playoff aspirations may be out of reach. Whether through free agency or the draft, the team's decision at QB will likely define their success moving forward.

Speaking with Cleveland.com, Ward believes Deshaun Watson will be healed soon. Watson re-rupted his Achilles.

"I think he'll recover. The biggest thing right now is just the mental. It's a lot of hate going around right now, but you can't just look too deep into it. I think he'll overcome it and be better from it."

For now, Ward could only hope that the upcoming draft will produce the finest and youngest quarterbacks for the team.
