Warriors vs Trailblazers: Stephen Curry Passes Clyde Drexler in All-Time Assists List

Stephen Curry moved up one place higher in the All-time Assists Leaders, surpassing Clyde Drexler. This is the opposite of what LeBron James delivered last night - a disappointing milestone with the most missed shots in NBA history.

This is just the beginning for the Golden State Warriors as the veteran point guard led the Dubs in a quick win against the Portland Trailblazers.

Stephen Curry continues to achieve new heights in his career by surpassing Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler in 38th place on the all-time assist list of the NBA. According to Sports Illustrated, the two-time NBA MVP Curry eyes as a next step the six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen, who is at 37th with 6,135 assists.

Currently in his 16th season, all of which he has dedicated to the Golden State Warriors, Curry remains one of the top players. The 36-year-old sniper is still considered one of the best guards in the league and has provided impressive games game in and game out. He has been averaging 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game with 45.0% field goal shooting and 40.8% three-point shooting through 74 games in the last season.

Warriors Struggled in the Playoffs

While that was the case, the season had not been kind to the team as they failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2024 NBA season. However, with a new season ahead, the team is optimistic and rejuvenated with Curry on board.

Warriors Upcoming Games

The Warriors will play the Utah Jazz on Friday night, following their match-up on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers in Salt Lake City, where they'll play Jordan Clarkson and his team. They are set to return home to the Bay Area for the first game of the season at home, where they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night.

Although the journey will be quite harder with Klay Thompson's departure from the Dubs, Curry is hopeful that the team will bounce back stronger this season.

Clutch Points reports that Draymond Green is still here to add arsenal to GSW along with Andrew Wiggin, Kevon Looney, and Jonathan Kuminga.
