Highest Paid NBA Stars In 2024 As Steph Curry Signs $62.2 Million Extension

Stephen Curry will seemingly continue to be the highest-paid player in the NBA until the 2026-27 season after he signed a record-breaking contract extension.

On Thursday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed that the 36-year-old athlete has signed a one-year extension with the Golden State Warriors for $62.6 million. This will make Curry the first-ever NBA player to earn $60 million in a season.

The deal will also keep the two-time MVP in San Francisco for at least three seasons more.

Curry has been the highest-paid NBA player since the 2017-18 season, where he earned $34.6 million, according to Spotrac.

2. Nikola Jokic

The two-time NBA MVP (2021, 2022) has quickly become a force in the league. Despite being picked 41st overall in the 2014 NBA Draft, he has steered his career into leading the Denver Nuggets into their first NBA championship in 2023.

Jokic is set to earn $51.4 million this season.

3. Joel Embiid

The reigning MVP is getting paid big this season, earning $51.4 million as well.

The Philadelphia 76ers center, known as The Process, is a four-time NBA All-Star, a four-time All-NBA Team selection, and a two-time All-NBA Defensive team member.

4. Bradley Beal

Looking at the total cash earnings, Beal is taking the fourth spot with $50.2 million.

The Washington Wizards guard is a three-time NBA All-Star and a two-time All-NBA team selection. He also held the NBA scoring title in 2020-21, averaging 31.3 points.

5. Kevin Durant

Based on total cash earnings, Durant is fifth with a $49.8 million contract this season.

KD deserves a big paycheck for all his achievements and contributions to his team, the Phoenix Suns. He is a two-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, the 2014 NBA MVP and a four-time Olympic gold medalist.
