Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has continued his streak of cryptic messages after not making the Team USA squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The reigning NBA Finals MVP left an intriguing comment on an Instagram post by Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who is part of the team.

"#1 option [100 emoji]," Brown said on a photo of Edwards during a Team USA practice.

Edwards has previously declared himself the number one option on the star-studded squad, which features NBA all-time greats such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant.

"I'm still the number one option. Y'all might look at it differently, but I don't look at it that different," the 22-year-old said during the start of the Team USA training camp.

Jaylen Brown's comments after being passed over for Team USA roster spot

Brown made several posts on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, expressing disappointment over being passed over for the Olympic roster and even calling out the team's official uniform supplier, Nike.

Three of Brown's Celtics teammates, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White, are on the roster.

White was recently brought in as a late replacement after Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard withdrew from the team at the start of the training camp to focus on preparing for the upcoming NBA season, given his extensive injury history.
