Shooting guard Buddy Hield has spoken for the first time since finalizing his signing with the Golden State Warriors.
The 31-year-old spoke with BasketNews during the Valencia leg of the 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, where he plays for his native Bahamas.
"It seemed like a perfect fit. Growing up, watching their style of play. The way they coach, the players around them - Steph, Draymond, Wiggins. The style of play that Steph has," the former Oklahoma Sooners standout said.
Hield played a league-leading 84 regular games last season, initially for the Indiana Pacers, before getting shipped to the Philadelphia 76ers before the trade deadline.
"Just seeing the dynasty they had and the way they play, I feel like that suits my game more. Fast ball movement, cutting, passing, making the defenses to make decisions. I think that going there, I can learn a lot and elevate my game," he added.
Hield is considered one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA, and fans have dubbed his partnership with Warriors star Steph Curry as the "Splash Buddies."

The 6-foot-4 sharpshooter had an answer that would delight Dub Nation when asked what the fanbase could expect from him.
"I wanna go there and win and try to get them back on top. All I can do is help to get back on top. It's fun, man. They made the game so easy over there," the Bahamian declared.
Hield also praised the Warriors front office for their recent signings of De'Anthony Melton and Kyle Anderson, calling them "great pieces."
