DeMar DeRozan has been busy while searching for his next NBA team.
The 34-year-old free agent appeared in the new music video for rapper Kendrick Lamar's mega-hit and diss track, "Not Like Us," released on Thursday, July 4. The track was aimed at Canadian musician Drake.
DeRozan made a cameo in the music video, coinciding with the verse where he was mentioned in the rap song.
"I'm glad DeRoz' came home, y'all didn't deserve him neither," the 17-time Grammy Award winner rapped on the second verse of "Not Like Us."
Both DeRozan and Lamar hail from Compton, California, and the six-time NBA All-Star also made a prior appearance onstage during a Juneteenth concert by the rapper when he performed the same song.
DeMar DeRozan involved in Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud
The particular line where DeRozan is mentioned in 'Not Like Us' refers to his departure from the Toronto Raptors in 2018. He was dealt to the San Antonio Spurs as part of the Kawhi Leonard trade, making his return "home" to the United States.
Lamar also targeted the Raptors with the line, as Drake is a Toronto native and has served as the team's global ambassador since 2013.
DeRozan still holds several records for the Raptors franchise, where he spent most of his career, including most points, field goals, free throws, games played, and minutes played.
