Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller has opened up about the problematic 2023 season he had coming off a major injury.
The eight-time Pro Bowl selection returned less than a year after tearing his right ACL during Week 12 of the 2022 season against the Detroit Lions.
"I could have easily sat out all of last season, but I couldn't do my teammates like that. I felt like being later in my career, I didn't want to sacrifice any of my years. But at the same time, I shouldn't have been out there," the 35-year-old admitted.
Regarded as one of the best pass rushers of all time, Miller returned during Week 5 of the 2023 season. He struggled for the rest of the campaign and only played 12 games.
"I feel like people are judging me on that, so it's making me a little bit angry, to be honest. It's making me tap into a Von that I haven't been in a while," the Super Bowl 50 MVP added.
Von Miller reveals goals for the 2024 NFL season
Miller revealed his plans to bounce back from his dreadful 2023 campaign, in which he managed just two solo tackles and one assist in the least productive season of his career.
"I just want to get back to playing my style of football. Get back to talking s**t, f**king making sacks, dancing, and making plays for my teammates. That's been my whole mindset this offseason," the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team member stated.
The three-time First-Team All-Pro has plenty of time to redeem himself, as he is under contract with the Bills until the end of the 2027 NFL season.
