Longtime New York Mets Brandon Nimmo had to sit out their series opener against the Washington Nationals on Monday after figuring in a strange accident in his hotel room that left his face bleeding.
The team confirmed that the veteran outfielder missed their latest game after fainting and hitting his head, leaving a huge cut on his forehead.
The accident occurred early in the morning, according to Nimmo, who is now feeling okay.
Further tests showed there's not much to worry about, at least for now.
Manager Carlos Mendoza said the team was lucky it was not that severe.
"He went through all the tests this morning," Mendoza said.
"Wanted to make sure we weren't missing anything. Luckily everything came back negative, so I think we got lucky there."
According to the Associated Press, Nimmo woke up around 5:15 A.M. and went to the bathroom. That's when he suddenly felt a cramp and fell, losing consciousness. He woke up with his head bleeding. He got confused about how it happened.

Nimmo called one of the trainers when he woke up and was taken to a hospital for a CT scan. He was diagnosed with a concussion.
He stayed in the hospital until the afternoon and managed to join the team at the ballpark, but he was officially ruled out for the game.
Talking to reporters with his head plastered with a bandaid, he described in detail how the injury occurred.
"I've never had anything like this happen where I just blacked out. I literally cannot tell you what happened. I don't know."
He also insisted that he did not have any drink/alcohol before the accident.
