Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz made a surprising admission: He has yet to find a team for 2025. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is set to replace him on the Prancing Horse team after the ongoing campaign.

The 29-year-old has been in talks with other teams since his impending departure from Ferrari, and Hamilton's arrival was confirmed in February 2024.

"By talking to teams, it has shown me how tough the sport is, how little sometimes you have to believe what people say at the beginning of negotiations and conversations and mainly also to trust very little people in the paddock," the Spanish driver shared during a media appearance ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.

The Spaniard has long been linked to Williams and Sauber, which will become Audi's work teams by 2026, wherein his father, rally driver Carlos Sainz Sr., has connections.

Alpine also became one of the teams linked to Sainz after Esteban Ocon's departure from the French outfit was confirmed.

Sainz also mentioned that he had gained a deep understanding of the teams' situations through his conversations with them.

"It's a very political sport; there are a lot of things like this involved. It's made me understand that it's a very tough sport in that sense. I understand the better picture of F1 without going too much into detail," the three-time Grand Prix winner added.

However, Sainz is not expected to decide soon as he is amid a triple header of races, beginning with the Spanish GP last June 23, followed by the Austrian GP on June 30, and the British GP on July 7.
