Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz had something to say about emerging reports about his 2025 plans, claiming that he has agreed on a deal with Williams.

The Spanish driver is set to depart the Prancing Horse team at the end of the season, with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton taking over his seat.

"The only thing I can tell you is there is nothing locked in. I've seen reports, I don't know if it's in Spain, people saying I've signed," the 29-year-old said.

Sainz went on to criticize constant false reports suggesting his signing with various teams, including Mercedes three months ago and recently with Red Bull, before now being linked to Williams.

"So it's funny now seeing people say I've signed for Williams. It makes me laugh that this goes a bit unpunished for some media person. It concerns me that people can get away with that kind of stuff," the three-time Grand Prix winner added.

Another option closes for Carlos Sainz Jr. for 2025

While the reports of Sainz signing for Red Bull were false, the reigning constructors' champions were certainly a possible destination for him in 2025.

However, that ship has now sailed, leaving the Madrid-born racer with fewer options.

Red Bull has decided to renew Mexican driver Sergio Perez's contract for an additional two years until the end of 2026, extending his tenure which started in 2021.
