Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen revealed that he has only one request from his team as they move forward this season.
The reigning three-time world champion is the subject of much speculation regarding his future, with rumors circulating that he might leave the Milton Keynes-based outfit in 2025 amid instability among its leadership.
"I am quite a loyal person and it is something that means a lot to me. That is what I request from the team and so far that has always been great and that is what I want to keep for a long time," the 26-year-old stated during an interview with The Guardian.
The Dutchman's contract with Red Bull is set to last until the 2028 season. He has so far spent his F1 career under the Red Bull umbrella, making his debut with its sister team, Scuderia Toro Rosso, back in 2015, now known as the Visa Cash App RB F1 Team.
"It would be amazing to finish my career here at Red Bull. All the years staying basically at one team would be incredible," Verstappen added.
Mercedes ready to triple Max Verstappen's top salary
Despite Verstappen's contract with Red Bull running until 2028, Mercedes is looking to snatch the three-time champion with a lucrative offer.
Already the highest-paid driver on the grid for the past three seasons, Verstappen is making $55 million this season, but Mercedes wants to elevate his compensation to the next level.
The Brackley-based outfit is reportedly offering Verstappen an annual compensation worth $160 million, which would nearly triple his current salary and make him the highest-paid athlete in the world.
