Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott faced a civil lawsuit earlier this year concerning sexual assault allegations.
However, the 30-year-old quarterback is now off the hook.
Judge Angela Tucker of Collin County dismissed the lawsuit on Wednesday, June 26, and has set a hearing for September 13 to assess potential legal action against the accuser.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection was accused by a woman named Victoria Shores, claiming that Prescott sexually assaulted her in the back of an SUV in a Texas strip club parking lot back in February 2017.
The Dallas Police Department announced last May that they had found insufficient evidence to support a criminal case against the 2023 Second Team All-Pro member and would not proceed with charges.
Dak Prescott's lawyer claims the lawsuit is a money-grab attempt
Prescott's attorney, Levi G. McCathern, alleged that the lawsuit was part of a money-grab scheme targeting the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
"The original lies by Ms. Shores, her team, and their recent failed attempt to sue him civilly are all just a continuation of their extortion plot against Dak," he said in a statement.
Shores and her attorneys sent a letter to the 2022 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recipient, indicating that she would refrain from pursuing criminal charges or publicizing her claim if he paid her $100 million.
