WWE Monday Night Raw is set to make a historic move by moving out of linear television for the first time in its history to the streaming service Netflix in January 2025.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque has admitted that there will be a learning curve once the switch becomes official in a few months.
"In the fall, as the shows shift around, and then once we get to Netflix, Netflix is a completely different animal. It's a streaming service. How are commercials going to work? How are breaks going to work? What's the length of time?" the 54-year-old said in a guest appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Monday, June 24.
Triple H also added that WWE's content on television is subject to restrictions due to its PG rating.
"Being on Fox, if the crowd chants 'holy s**t' or something worse, they take the audio (out). Sometimes, they take the picture and the audio out, and it's a black screen," the 14-time world champion added.
Monday Night Raw will have edgier content
Levesque also shared that RAW could feature much edgier content on Netflix with less censorship.
"The Rock comes in, and you can't tell The Rock what to do. He does what he does. We won't have those issues with Netflix. The ability to be live globally and be seen live everywhere is a game-changing moment," the executive stated.
In January 2024, WWE signed a groundbreaking 10-year agreement worth $5 billion with Netflix. The agreement involves broadcasting Raw and securing the majority of WWE's global content rights.
