It looks like Ryan Garcia has reached his limit, or his staff needs to get him off social media.

The former WBC interim lightweight champion has announced his retirement from pro boxing two months after his massive victory over Devin Haney.

He made the announcement on his X account.

He stated in another X post that he is retiring hesitantly amid all the corruption surrounding the sport.

As for what he would do next, he hinted that he would try the entertainment industry.

"Yall may catch me out and about but as far as boxing I don't know. There is so much corruption I'm over it. I may do acting or singing. I'll still be training but I'm hurt and done with it and everyone. The sad part is I'm a great boxer. And I entertain and knock people out," he said.

"I'm sad bc I boxing. Praying for everyone and I hope everyone has a great life."

Garcia made around 13 X posts before arriving at his last tweet that said, "I'm officially retired."

The posts were about his take on the corruption in boxing and his personal life.

He enumerated the things he is currently going through.

Winning is addicting - not for Ryan Garcia

Many fans thought Garcia's decision was too sudden as he is only 25.

However, looking at what happened to him in the past two months, things are happening too fast for him, too.

He is freefalling based on his public actions since his upset win over Devin Haney.

Third week of April

First, there were the findings by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association in April that he consumed Ostarine, a performance-enhancing drug, before his bout with Haney.

Haney's camp wanted his win overturned and for Garcia to get suspended for the violation. The investigation is still ongoing.

The next controversy he got himself into was when he disrespected the wife of Australian boxer George Kambozo. He wrote on X that he slept with her, which Kamboz took offense to, especially since it was tweeted on Mother's Day.

Garcia apologized afterward and said he was joking, but the damage had been done.

Out of nowhere, he declared to the world that he was not having sex anymore and that he was single.

"I needed to clarify these things that people are thinking about me now, all these girls are just my friends, I'm not even with them. As I said, I'm celibate, I don't have sex, I've said that before, but I felt I needed to clear it up. I love them and God bless them," he said in the video.

The last one before his retirement announcement was when he was arrested in Los Angeles for hotel vandalism while intoxicated.

Beverly Hills authorities arrested him for damages amounting to $15,000. In the city, damages of at least $400 merit criminal charges.

He did not go straight to jail as he had to be hospitalized, but while there, he sent out tweets saying the hospital was trying to make him take a medicine he found "weird."

Garcia's mental health issues

It should be noted that Garcia was once asked by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) to undergo a mental health evaluation for his social media posts.

However, he took offense to the recommendation.

"I felt demeaned... I definitely felt isolated and I felt targetted," he said.

"I didn't feel good about them wanting to do a mental evaluation. It kind of makes me doubt myself. It kind of hurt me and like if this causes real mental issues, I'm going to sue you."

He eventually underwent brain tests. The fight went on as the NYSAC said the "doubts have disappeared" when it comes to his mental fit.
