The San Antonio Spurs have lucked out once again.
A season removed from winning the draft lottery and selecting Victor Wembanyama with the No.1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, the Spurs are back picking high in the lottery again, not with just one pick but with two.
The Spurs will pick from No.4 and No.8 this year in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Trading the Picks
The San Antonio Spurs could be looking to trade their two picks in this year's draft, according to NBA Draft Insider Jonathan Givony.
"You hear teams like San Antonio consider packaging the fourth and eighth picks. Maybe we should move up to number one," Givony said.
It would make sense for the Spurs to swing for the fences and bring in established talent to play with Wembanyama.
Last season, Wembanayama proved that he is indeed a generational talent and if San Antonio takes a chance at trading their picks, they could land a star now that would help them win sooner rather than later.
Here are some potential suitors that could be willing to trade San Antonio for their picks.
Brooklyn Nets
A team like the Brooklyn Nets, who don't have a pick in the first round of this year due to the James Harden trade, could be looking to recoup some draft capital.
The Nets could send Mikal Bridges to the Spurs for their two picks, starting off Brooklyn's rebuild and expediting San Antonio's.
Bridges posted an average of 19.3 points per game on 43.6% shooting last season.
He would be an ideal player alongside Wembanyama as he can shoot, play defense, and play off the dribble well.
Charlotte Hornets
The last couple of seasons haven't been too kind to the Charlotte Hornets.
The team has missed the playoffs in the last few seasons and have yet to strike gold in the NBA draft lottery, constantly missing out on getting the No.1 overall pick.
It's clear a change needs to happen in Charlotte, and it could begin with the Hornets trading star point guard LaMelo Ball, making Brandon Miller their lead guy.
Despite being an All-Star in 2022, Ball has yet to truly live up to his potential due to various injuries and off-the-court antics.
Maybe a change of scenery to the Spurs, where there is more structure, could help his career in the long run.
LaMelo Ball's play style would complement the Spurs and give Wembanyama a young, Ball only being 22 years old, dynamic point guard to pair up with.
Portland Trail Blazers
The Trailblazers are entering the 2024 NBA Draft with quite a few issues they must address.
However, they can kill two birds with one stone by tradingaway Anfernee Simons to San Antonio.
It's clear that Simons doesn't fit the Blazers' timeline. They need to look to build up their young, dynamic backcourt of Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe.
Sending Simons to San Antonio would give the Spurs one of the best dynamic scorers in the league, making plays for Wembanyama and the other young players on the roster.
