The Los Angeles Lakers' search for a new head coach appears to be nearing its climax.
One name has emerged as the frontrunner to lead LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the rest of the purple and gold.
The franchise is said to focus on JJ Redick as its next head coach, although no final decision has been made.
The former sharpshooter is currently the leading candidate for the position, but the Lakers are still in the process of their head-coaching search, with some steps needing to be done.
In addition to the 39-year-old ESPN analyst, the Lakers are also considering New Orleans Pelicans associate head coach James Borrego for the role.
Reddick and Borrego are the team's two leading candidates for succeeding Darvin Ham.
Paul Pierce makes bold take on JJ Redick with the Lakers
Meanwhile, former Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce critically opposed the Lakers' prospective actions.
The 46-year-old believes that the team's intention to bring in JJ Redick and potentially draft Bronny James indicates they are not serious about pursuing a championship.
"I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't really think it is about a championship no more, but this is about putting on a good show... I mean, does this sound like, 'We're tryna move in a direction to win a championship'? Or does this sound like 'We're trying to put on a show'?," the 2008 NBA Finals MVP stated.
