An Eastern Conference title contender is aiming for more reinforcement next season.

The Philadelphia 76ers will enter this offseason with only three guaranteed players on their roster, which gives them much financial flexibility and room for another max player.

The team has reportedly set its sights on three future Hall of Famers to fill that spot: Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George, and Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler.

Aside from those three, New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram is also an option for Philly, according to team insider Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The franchise is aiming to take advantage of its championship window, with 2023 NBA MVP Joel Embiid in the middle of his prime and guard Tyrese Maxey on a continued upward trajectory.

Sixers' massive salary cap space heading into free agency

The Sixers are projected to enter free agency with about $62 million in cap space, according to front-office expert Bobby Marks of ESPN.

George is expected to be the team's plan A this summer, as they can afford to give him a max contract, which the Clippers are unwilling to offer him at this point, leading to an impasse in their talks for an extension.

The team is also keen on keeping role players like Nico Batum, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Kyle Lowry, given their successful chemistry with Embiid and Maxey last season.
