Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic came out with an explosive start in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, May 30, at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The Slovenian guard scored 20 points in the first quarter alone, leading the Mavericks to a commanding 35-19 lead after the period.

Doncic's remarkable opening performance seemed to be fueled by a Timberwolves fan present at the Target Center.

The fan reportedly waved a handkerchief at Doncic early in the first quarter, seemingly referencing his frequent reaction as "crying for fouls."

The 6-foot-7 player noticed the fan and smiled, continuing to glance towards the fan's side of the court during his early offensive flurry, according to journalist Ben Golliver of The Washington Post.
