The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of elimination after losing Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, 116-107, falling to a 0-3 deficit on Sunday, May 26, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards lamented one factor of their loss after a reporter asked what stood out for him on the game's box score.

"They had 31 free throws, we had 17," the 22-year-old told the media during the post-game press conference.

The disparity was exacerbated as the Timberwolves only made 12 of their 17 attempts from the line, while the Mavericks made 26 of their 31 free throws.

The Timberwolves' physicality, which overpowered their first-round opponents Phoenix Suns and second-round opponents Denver Nuggets, has turned against them in this series as they are being punished by getting called for fouls.

Game 4 of the series will be on Tuesday, May 28, at the same building, American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Anthony Edwards' best game is not enough vs Mavericks

Edwards had his best game of the series after struggling mightily in the first two games at home in the Target Center, shooting a combined 16-of-41 in those games.

The two-time NBA All-Star bounced back with a respectable 26 points on 11-of-24 shooting from the field, adding nine rebounds, nine assists, and two steals in a near triple-double outing.

However, Edwards also had five turnovers in 43 minutes of action.
