Pep Guardiola has won pretty much everything in English football.

He and Manchester City just won their Premier League 2023-2024 season to bring themselves a fourth consecutive title, the most for any team in the history of England's top-flight football.

They did it by beating West Ham United, 3-1, to erase any hopes that second placer Arsenal have.

The normal mindset after winning is to do it again. Winning is addicting, as they say.

That's not the case though for Guardiola.

The Spanish manager has many Manchester City fans worried about their future after he suggested that he might quit the team in the near future.

"I had that feeling last season [after we won the treble]," he told reporters shortly after their title win.

"We were in Istanbul and I said, 'It's over. What am I doing here? There is nothing left.' But I have a contract. I am here and I am still enjoying some of the moments, sometimes tired but some of them I love.

"And after a few days, we start playing good, winning games, different players, and we start to think about how no one has done four in a row. Why not try it?"

Football managers with most trophies

Guardiola is probably only looking for better challenges. He has conquered England, Germany, and Spain.

One will wonder what challenge he will find on the way.

To become the most successful manager in terms of trophy wins might be one.

Sir Alex Ferguson is at the top of the list with 49 with most of them during his tenure with Manchester United.

Guardiola is at second with 37 trophies, which is split between Barcelona, Bayern Munchen, and Manchester City.

The current Manchester City manager is only 53 years old and it is not impossible for him to break Ferguson's record.
