The rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks is so large that it may be displayed on a billboard. According to ESPN, fans of the 49ers have raised over $8,000 to purchase a billboard in Seattle as a way to taunt residents by plastering images of the five Super Bowl trophies that the 49ers have won throughout their franchise's history.

ESPN reports that project manager Aasheesh Shravah said that the project was expected to cost $7,000 and the remaining money will go to Seattle's Children's Hospital.

The group's website said Tuesday afternoon that $8,379 has been raised for the billboard, according to ESPN.

The report indicates that the billboard proposal features Dwight Clark's legendary game-winning grab in the 1982 NFC Championship game against the Dallas Cowboys that has simply been referred to as "The Catch." The image of the iconic catch will serve as the backdrop behind the five Lombardi Super Bowl Trophies that will be displayed.

ESPN reports that the group has "contacted companies in Seattle with multiple billboard ad locations" and that it hope the ad will remain visible "for at least one month, all during December and some of January for their playoff games."

The billboard is perhaps in response to Seahawks fans having a 12th Man banner fly over the 49ers' home, Candlestick Park.

The 49ers fell short of their pursuit of a sixth title last Super Bowl when they fell to the Baltimore Ravens 34-31 last February while the Seattle Seahawks have only appeared in one Super Bowl in their history and were unsuccessful in their pursuit.

The Seahawks and 49ers split games this season with Seattle defeating San Francisco 29-3 at home in Week 2 while the Niners got their revenge Dec. 8 with a 19-17 victory in San Francisco.

While Seattle has never won a Super Bowl, it has clinched a playoff berth and has an NFL-best record of 12-2 while being a favorite to appear at the biggest game of the year this February. The Seahawks paid a visit to the site of the Super Bowl this past weekend at MetLife Stadium and shutout the New York Giants 23-0. The 49ers are 10-4 and closing in on a playoff berth.

Seattle fans may witness their team march to the Super Bowl, but they'll likely have a 49ers billboard in their city.
