New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers has significantly changed his family's life for the better upon entering the NFL.
The 20-year-old recently signed his first professional contract. He talked about the significance of football for him and happily shared a substantial gift he bought for his mom ahead of Mother's Day.
"Saved me and my family's life. Put my mom in a house that she wanted. Changed my life forever so I'm happy to be here," the 20-year-old said during the first day of the team's rookie minicamp on Friday, May 10.
The Giants selected Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after spending his college football career with the LSU Tigers from 2021 to 2023.
"That was the most important thing in my life, I would say, is having her have her own house and feel comfortable and not having to worry about bills to pay. And know that her little boy did it for her," the Louisiana native added about the gift to his mom.

Nabers' rookie contract with the Giants is undeniably life-changing.
The 2023 Unanimous All-American selection signed a four-year contract worth $29.2 million, fully guaranteed, according to Spotrac.
Nabers' rookie contract includes a signing bonus of $18.062 million and a base salary of $795,000, all of which he will receive in his rookie year, totaling $18.857 million.
