Where to Next for Adrian Newey
It has been rumored that Ferrari and Aston Martin had already offered Adrian Newey a contract earlier this week, and other reports have stated that Newey's decision could come as early as Thursday.
Ferrari and Aston Martin are said to be the front runners in acquiring the touted race engineer, but Mercedes could join in with a tempting offer of their own as well. As of right now, sources believe that Adrian Newey is really only considering Ferrari's offer.
Given the trajectory of Ferrari for this season and into 2025, it would look as if the Italian Constructor would be the most rewarding home for Adrian Newey. Ferrari already made their message known for their preference and appreciation for decorated personnel within Formula 1, as they inked a deal with 7-Time World Champion Lewis Hamilton early before the start of the 2024 season.

Ferrari or Aston Martin for Adrian Newey
Aston Martin does have some to offer in potential, but a weak driver lineup is what could skew Adrian Newey from joining them. Fernando Alonso is a brilliant driver and seemingly at the top of his game, but the persistence of Lawrence Stroll in giving his son, Lance Stroll, the second seat at Aston may make Newey hesitant; as the full potential of his product will only be extracted from one driver.
Ferrari's driver lineup for 2025 could possibly be the best pairing in F1 of the past decade in Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton; one could even argue that they have the best on the grid even now with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.
At this stage in his career, Adrian Newey will be looking to continue to polish his name as one of the best lead engineers in Formula 1 history, and the Scuderia is the best place for him to put a bit more shine on his legacy.
