The Denver Nuggets have once again staged a comeback from a double-digit deficit against the Los Angeles Lakers, marking their third such comeback in as many games.

The defending NBA champions clinched a victory in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series, defeating the Lakers 112-105 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone elaborated on how his team approaches comebacks from deficits, especially during Game 2 where they faced a 20-point hole.

"I would say there's a confidence that comes with being a champion... That starting group has been through a lot of wars. They're battle tested. Every time we get down, we don't panic, we stay the course and we find a way to get back in the game," the 52-year-old said during the post-game press conference.

The Lakers held a lead of as much as 12 points in the second quarter, but the Nuggets swiftly turned the tide, building a double-digit lead of their own midway through the third quarter.

Nuggets on the Verge of Another Clean Sweep of the Lakers

The Nuggets are on the brink of sweeping the purple and gold franchise for the second year in a row, as they did during last year's Western Conference finals.

The Lakers have now lost 11 consecutive games against the Nuggets, with their skid dating back to January 2023.

The two teams will face each other again for Game 4 on Saturday, April 27th, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
