The 2024 NFL draft is heavy with quality quarterbacks who can easily be incorporated into the starting line-up.

With the league becoming more of a quarterback-controlled game, many teams scramble to acquire a future franchise player.

Teams who own the No. 1 to No. 3 picks are all expected to select a quarterback.

Each prospect is excellent in their own way.

However, Jayden Daniels stands out among the rest because he is not just a quarterback. He is a dual threat as a running quarterback.

The LSU standout, projected to go No. 2 and get picked by the Washington Commandeers, believes in his running capability and smarts as a play-caller.

He even thinks that one day, he could be the greatest running QB ever.

"[Vick] was the first, but I think Lamar's [Jackson] got him now," Daniels said in an interview with CBS Sports when asked if Vick is the greatest running QB of all time. "I'm in the league now, so I'm trying to go past them."

It is not like what Daniels aspires for is impossible.

As a quarterback, he ran more than his contemporaries at LSU.

He ran for 1,134 yards and recorded ten touchdowns while averaging 8.4 yards per carry last season. He also ran 234 yards and posted two touchdowns against Florida to become the first FBS player to rush for at least 200 yards and throw for 350 in a single game.

Daniels is confident in his ability and IQ, a combination that allows a player of his position to adjust to the defense on the fly.

"Being able to check into runs and check protections based on leverage and stuff like that. I take pride in learning about football and knowing football at a high level," he said.

It is not impossible for Daniels to become the best running QB.

But who could be the biggest obstacle before he reached his way there?

Here are the Top 3 greatest NFL running quarterbacks of All Time:

1. Michael Vick

Vick is in the Top 1 on most lists of running QBs.

He owns the record for most career rushing yards by a quarterback at 6109 as well as the most career yards per carry at 7.0.

The man closest to him in terms of career rushing yards is Cam Newton, who recorded 5,628 yards in his 10-year career.

The most impressive aspect of his record is that he was away from the NFL for a significant amount of time because of his off-field issues.

2. Cam Newton

Newton is huge, but that is not an obstacle for him to run. Instead, he uses it as an asset to run through defenses when planned plays are botched.

As mentioned above, the 2015 NFL MVP has the second-most rushing yards ever. He is also the all-time leader in rushing attempts (1,118) and rushing touchdowns (75) for a quarterback.

3. Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens star is one of the few active players on the list of several records owned by running QB.

What's more astounding is that he is only 27 years old, the peak age for a quarterback.

He already has more rushing attempts than Vick, with 875 to place third overall and 5,258 to win the fourth spot in rushing yards attempted.

Jackson has the best quarterback performance if it boils down to a single-season performance.

He is the single-season leader in rush attempts (176), rushing yards (1,206), and rush yards per game (80.4).

All of these he achieved in 2019.
