It's an unwritten rule that other professional teams don't trash talk a franchise or a player before or after a game. Perhaps, that only applies to professional teams that compete in the same sport.

The Atlanta Hawks sent a message to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, he of the two fourth-quarter interceptions and late-game collapse in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers in NFL play, offering some advice via Twitter.

@ATLHawks: "If Tony Romo needs advice in late-game situations, we know a guy he can call..."

A photo of the Hawks' Al Horford accompanied the tweet. According to USA TODAY Sports' For the Win, Horford beat the Dallas Mavericks with a buzzer-beater in November and followed that up Friday with a game-winning 20-footer with less than five second left against the Washington Wizards.

Romo already has been the victim of a volcano of criticism for his late-game performance against the Packers. The Cowboys led 26-3 at the half but lost 37-36, the first time in franchise history that the Cowboys lost a 20-point or more lead that it had at halftime.

With 2:57 left to play in the fourth quarter and the Cowboys leading 36-31, Romo had a run-pass option, and dropped back to pass. Packers linebacker Clay Matthews came at him untouched, but Romo eluded him, stepped up and threw a pass intended for Miles Austin that Green Bay cornerback Sam Shields intercepted.

The NFL.com reported that Cowboys coach Jason Garrett explained after the game that call on the interception was originally a run that allows Romo the option to pass instead if he sees the defense lined up in a formation that the Dallas offense can exploit.

"We call that a 'smoke' or a 'flash,' Garrett said during his postgame news conference."That's something we have accompanying some runs if he gets a bad look. That's what happened on the interception. It was a run call that he threw the ball on."
