Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Gets Issued an Arrest Warrant From Dallas Police Following Car Crash

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is facing legal troubles after being involved in a multi-vehicle car crash last week.

According to local Dallas news station WFAA, an arrest warrant has been officially issued for the Super Bowl champion.

The 23-year-old now faces eight charges in the case, including six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault, all of which are felonies, as stated in the arrest warrant.

The second-year wideout was involved in an accident in Dallas involving six vehicles last Saturday, March 30. Rice and his entourage ran away from the scene without checking on the victims.

The incident occurred as a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini, both leased in Rice's name, were allegedly racing, with the Chiefs player behind the wheel of the Lamborghini. The passengers in both vehicles will not be charged. 

Rashee Rice has 24 hours to surrender

Rice has reportedly been given 24 hours to turn himself in before officers are dispatched to arrest him.

The SMU product had previously met with Dallas police investigators and apologized a few days after the incident. He had promised to cooperate fully with authorities.

Meanwhile, a league spokesman has stated that the NFL has been closely monitoring developments regarding the matter, according to league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
