Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt is a blue chip offensive line prospect, but which teams are in need of his talents the most leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft?

Every team in the league could always use more talent along its offensive line, and Alt is the sort of prospect that projects to make an above-average impact right away at a premium position.

NFL teams have fully internalized the immense value that strong offensive tackle play brings to their respective teams, so here are three teams picking high in the draft who look primed to land Joe Alt and add a franchise cornerstone to their line.

Joe Alt Landing Spot: Los Angeles Chargers

Everything that Jim Harbaugh has done since taking over as the head of the Los Angeles Chargers is suggesting a premium being placed on the running game.

What better way could there be for the Chargers to improve their ground game than adding another high-level tackle to their line alongside Rashawn Slater?

The Chargers have glaring holes at wide receiver, so they could grab a weapon with this pick, but either way, it's a safe bet that the Chargers will add something on offense if they stay at 5.

Trading down to let a different team nab a receiver and landing Joe Alt or a different offensive tackle at the new spot would also seem to be an option.

Joe Alt Landing Spot: New York Jets

The New York Jets saw their season go up in smoke just a few plays in last year when Aaron Rodgers tore his achilles in part because the offensive line allowed a quick pressure.

New York has done a lot to address that this offseason both in terms of new starters and better depth, but adding Joe Alt would be a good move not just for protecting Rodgers this year, but for building a line that's good for the long haul.

Like the Chargers, the Jets could also consider a weapon here to add to Garrett Wilson, as Joe Douglas has done a good job all around this off-season, the Jets can truly go with any position here in an effort to pick the best player available.

Maybe they feel that is Joe Alt.

Joe Alt Landing Spot: Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are currently a complete mess from a roster construction standpoint. This is a team that just lost its identity with Derrick Henry heading to Baltimore, and with the questionable firing of Mike Vrabel it might be a long road back to relevancy.

They could get started down that road by hitting on their first round pick, and Joe Alt feels like a safe choice, securing at the very worst a starting caliber tackle for the next eight years or decade.

At best, they'd be starting their offensive line with an elite left tackle to help both aspects of their offense, supporting young quarterback Will Levis and a new-look ground game.
