Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is gearing up for a significant shift within his professional circle as he looks to bounce back strong next season.

The 24-year-old point guard has decided to part company with his agent, Jim Tanner of Tandem Sports + Entertainment, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Tanner has represented the two-time NBA All-Star since he entered the NBA as the second overall pick in the 2019 draft following his collegiate career at Murray State.

Among Tanner's current prominent clients are Morant's teammate from the Grizzlies, Desmond Bane, Brooklyn Nets point guard Cam Thomas, and Cleveland Cavaliers big man Jarrett Allen.

Additionally, Tanner has represented NBA legends Tim Duncan and Ray Allen during their illustrious playing careers.

Ja Morant and Memphis Grizzlies struggled in 2023-24

During the 2023-24 season, Morant and the Grizzlies encountered a turbulent journey, particularly when Morant missed the initial 25 games due to a suspension associated with a social media incident involving the flashing of a gun.

Upon his comeback in December 2023, Morant made a significant impact by clinching a game-winning shot in his first appearance back.

However, his return was short-lived as he suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder, requiring season-ending surgery less than a month later.

Throughout the season, the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year only played nine games, averaging 25.1 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.6 rebounds.
