Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, through his attorney, has said that they will cooperate with the police on the investigation of a car crash he was involved in.

Footage of Rashee Rice's accident in Dallas, Texas, is all over the internet already, and the wide receiver is identified as among the people walking away from the scene.

The accident allegedly occurred due to unauthorized racing between luxury vehicles. The six-car misfortune got at least two people wounded.

A Lamborghini caused the chain reaction after it swerved into the highway's shoulder and hit the center median wall. The other identified car is a Corvette.

Three men were seen walking away from the scene from the dashcam footage of another car that was also hit.

"The occupants of the Lamborghini and the Corvette all ran from the scene without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical help or providing their information," police told the newspaper.

Two drivers were treated at the scene, while two others were transported to a hospital due to minor injuries.

Many identified one of the three men as Rice. A source also said that one of the cars was registered to the NFL wide receiver.

"On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday," State Sen. Royce West, an attorney for Rice, said in a statement.

"Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly. Any all requests for comment can be directed to his attorney Mr. Royce West of West & Associates LLP."

Rice was born in Philadelphia but went to high school in North Richland Hills, Dallas, Texas.

No reaction still from the NFL regarding Rashee Rice

Rice's camp's statement is a good first step to settling the case.

The Kansas City Chiefs said it would wait for the investigation's results and expressed relief that no one incurred major injuries.

"In all these situations you have to wait until you have all the facts and frankly, we don't have all the facts at this point," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said in an interview Monday with KCMO Talk Radio's "Mundo in the Morning."

"The one comforting fact that we do have is that there was a multi-car crash in Texas, in Dallas, and fortunately, it doesn't appear that anyone was hurt and we should be grateful for that. We'll get to the bottom of it, we'll gather the facts and we'll react accordingly."

The NFL, however, continues to be mum about the issue as they are still waiting for the facts before sending out a reaction.

Rashee Rice finished his rookie season in 2023 as a Super Bowl champ with the Chiefs.

He was drafted 55th overall by the back-to-back champs and impressed supporters by breaking the Chiefs single-season rookie receiving touchdowns record by Week 15.

He also played significant minutes during the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers, logging 39 yards on six receptions.
